Audio/Mic Problems

If your recording has no audio, check the following:

Chrome permissions

  • When prompted, allow microphone access.
  • Click the padlock icon in the address bar → Site settings → set Microphone to Allow.

Operating system permissions

  • macOS: System Settings → Privacy & Security → enable Microphone and Screen Recording for Chrome.
  • Windows: Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone → allow apps to access your microphone; ensure Chrome is allowed.

Input device & mute

  • Verify the correct input device is selected in the UI Zap recording controls.
  • Ensure your microphone hardware isn’t muted and input levels are adequate.

Try again

  • Reload the page and restart the recording.
  • Test your mic in another app to confirm it’s working.
