Extension Not Capturing

Follow these checks if the extension doesn’t capture as expected.

Permissions

  • Ensure the extension is installed and enabled in chrome://extensions and pinned to the toolbar.
  • Site permissions: allow “active tab” access; for video with audio, grant microphone permission when prompted.
  • OS permissions (macOS): enable Screen Recording and Microphone for Chrome in System Settings → Privacy & Security.

Page limitations

  • Some pages block extensions (e.g., Chrome Web Store, internal chrome:// pages).
  • If an embedded iframe blocks capture due to CSP, try capturing the parent tab or use full desktop recording.

Reset & update

  • Reload the target page and try again.
  • Disable conflicting extensions temporarily and retry.
  • Update UI Zap to the latest version.

Managed devices

  • On enterprise‑managed devices, capture may be restricted by policy. Contact IT to allowlist the UI Zap extension and required permissions.
